Once in a while, I ought to thank my readers

The graph shows the number of “views” this site received over ten days, October 3 – 12. I don’t know what to make of these numbers – are they considered high? Low?
What I have noticed over the months, though, is that the overall numbers have been growing, and I thought tonight, I’d should say something by way of thanks. You’ve made this labour of love, far more love than labour. It’s nice to be appreciated. So thank you for coming here, and I hope the stuff here has been helpful in some way. Magazine ads – uses and perils

The internet is good for researching possible places to visit prior to a trip and looking up others’ experiences of these places, but during the trip itself, I like to pick up print publications that contain advertisements for gay massage places.

Above are some publications I picked up in July: Axis and Max magazines and two fold-out maps, GM Guide and Gay Guide. Continue reading Magazine ads – uses and perils…
Should I be writing an obituary for Aromass?

September 2009:
By the time you read this, Aromass Massage may be no more. It is so out of the way, it must be hard for it to get enough customer traffic. And I’m not referring to tourists. It really is at the northeast edge of the city, and even for Bangkok residents, it would still be inconveniently located.
From the Silom area, I took the skytrain to Siam Interchange, then walked about 20 minutes to Pratunam, from where I caught the khlong boat to The Mall, Bangkapi – the same route I took to White House Spa. See the post Khlong way to White House Spa. The boat ride took 40 minutes. Arriving at Bangkapi Mall, I crossed Lad Prao Road to Happyland Soi 1, from where I caught a taxi and asked the driver to take me to Nawamin Soi 57. That was about ten minutes and 50-something baht away. By the time I found Aromass’ front door, it was nearly two hours after I left my hotel.
It’s in an area of low townhouses, in which Aromass stood out as the only all-wood garden house.

Glitz added to Tarntawan corner

September 2009:
The run-down building at the corner of Surawong Road and Soi Tarntawan has been tarted up and brought back to life. It now houses a new Japanese restaurant named Baru-za, and a boutique hotel called Glitz. The hotel opened on 17 September 2009.
There’s nothing obviously gay about it, but being so close to the ever-popular Tawan Bar, I can’t see how it can be gay-unfriendly. Continue reading Glitz added to Tarntawan corner…

July 2009:
His massage I rated 3/10. The sex was much better: 7/10. It’s kind of like what I remember of past visits to Banana Club – the massage is forgettable, the sex rather better. Those are their priorities.
The facility however, is a bit dubious, and I’m not sure if I’d be happy going back again.
His Massage at Silom Plaza – bad old memories

I came across an old email that I had sent to a friend, describing a disastrous visit to His, a massage shop which was recently reported to have closed. I think it was my last visit there, not having gone back since. The email was dated 2005, but the experience could have been either earlier that year or the year before.
Yes, I know where His is. It’s at Silom Plaza, some way down Silom Road three quarters the way to Tower Inn if you’re starting from the Patpong area. I’ve been there twice or thrice, but I’ve never had a good time. The last one was particularly awful. Do I recommend you try it? No.

As reported by cnx4shan on the Gay Ting Tong forum, 7 October 2009, one of Chiang Mai’s best known bars, Adam’s Apple, has re-opened after being closed for a few years.
Fresh Beach Boys
I have previously spoken well of Wild West Boys in Pattaya. I feel it is necessary to advise readers that there have been reports of changes. Bars evolve and change all the time, of course, but the changes befalling Wild West Boys appear to be significant and in a negative direction.
