Smoke in the seabreeze

April 2009:
Beach concession #25 on Jomtien’s Dongtan beach flies a rainbow flag above its umbrellas. In fact the stand is called “Rainbow Beach”. I shall sit there, I said to myself. Any business that proudly serves gay customers deserves my support.
Yet even then, I suspected that it might not be as ideal as I would wish. The beach chairs were laid out rather too close together. I like some real space between me and the next person for a bit of tranquility. Continue reading Smoke in the seabreeze…
Different hand more exciting
May 26, 2009 at 00:38 | In Gay Pattaya, Mack's kiss and tell, Mack's musings | Leave a CommentApril 2009:
Sure, we buy sex. But there’s a human being behind the transaction. I try to treat them with respect, and sometimes they respond with disarming candour. They tell little stories about their lives, which in turn reminds us again, there is a human being beneath the silky skin.
Kaeng was one of those more memorable for the short conversation we had than for the sex. I won’t even bother to describe what we did in bed, an experience I would grade as 3/10. That it was probably going to be under-par, I knew the very moment when, back in my room, he took off his shirt and admired his own body in the mirror.
“How old you think I am?” was his first question. What kind of person asks such a question to start a conversation? Is his top concern that of looking young? Continue reading Different hand more exciting…
Floppy Thai massage

April 2009:
I was waylaid. Then seduced. And came out poorer, but happier.
Monday night, as I walked past the tiny shop called Pawanthip Massage, he called out “Massajee?” with a bright smile, flashing a tray-sized card with prices listed. I remember him. He had called out to me in December flashing the same smile and card. I had entertained the thought of trying his services then, but the tiny shop behind him made the idea unappealing.
Pawanthip Massage occupies a narrow corner shoplot, with glass on the front and the alley side. Brightly lit inside, one can see 4 armchairs for foot massage and, barely 4 metres in, some curtained areas to provide a little privacy for Thai massage. And that’s that. Should a current of air lift the curtains by any chance, everybody on the street will be able to see you.
He was cute, but not that cute to override those concerns. Continue reading Floppy Thai massage…
Seeing my Albury hunk again

March 2009:
“Is Lohm working today?” I asked the guy who answered the phone at Albury.
The answer, alas, was in the negative. A customer had taken Lohm away for a few days, I was told.
“What about Jackie? Is he working today?” I tried my possible alternative, the guy who looked like Lohm, and who gave himself away as gay the last time I was there. See Albury massage: reliably consistent. On that occasion, by the time I saw Jackie, I had had my fill with Lohm, but I made a mental note that Jackie might make a delectable second choice in future.
“Jackie not work long time already,” the voice said. More disappointment. Continue reading Seeing my Albury hunk again…
Prime Massage lives up to its name

March 2009:
He’s just not my type. There won’t be any sex today. That much was clear when I saw the guy assigned to me by rotation at Prime Massage, on Silom Soi 6.
“A” – or “Ei” - was a Q1, about 170 cm tall, 54 kg and 20 years old. Q1-types are too thin for me.
He led me five floors up – stairs, no lift – to the massage room on the top floor. I don’t know why we had to go all the way up. There seemed to be plenty of rooms on the Levels 2, 3 and 4. I cannot believe they were all occupied. Or maybe, they were for women? Or furnished for Thai massage? Damn, I should have asked. Continue reading Prime Massage lives up to its name…
Government bus service to Pattaya

March 2009:
These two photos were taken at Suvarnabhumi airport, in the public area on the arrivals floor. I passed by the counter on my way to the taxi queue.
This service is by a different operator from the Bell Travel Service that I wrote about in earlier posts – Express bus from Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya and Bell bus lost my booking. It has fewer departures, but does not deliver you to the door of your hotel in Pattaya. Still, it’s good to know of alternatives. Continue reading Government bus service to Pattaya…
