I don’t remember much of the first time I went to Blue Boy in Kuala Lumpur some 10 or 12 years ago, except a general impression that it was rather sleazy – which, mind you, is not as off-putting as it may sound.

map_blueboyAnyway, with a a free Saturday evening, my last here, I checked it out again.

It’s a bar occupying two shoplots in an alley just off Jalan Sultan Ismail, within easy walking distance of the Bukit Bintang Monorail Stattion. It’s well signaged and you can spot it from the entrance to the alley itself. Continue reading Blue Boy, Kuala Lumpur…

November 2008:

[Update: 25 August 2009: I see from Trevvy.com's bulletin board that Paradise is reported to have moved. Unfortunately, I can't see from the forum where its new location is. The text below is therefore outdated.]

Paradise Massage is along the same row as Sempurna Avenue, Jari Emas and Fresh. I have reviewed the first two, but not yet Fresh. Like the others, you have to look closely to find the right doorway and go up at least one flight of stairs. They are not prominently signaged.

Paradise struck me as the friendliest one. The boss (named Hao, or something like that) and his assistants were chatty and obliging. Continue reading Friendly Paradise…

November 2008

There were about 60 photographs pinned onto a wall, and I was asked to choose one. I picked Shukor, a buff-looking guy. But when the clerk started to write his name as the fourth entry on a list, I noticed that the second entry was also “Shukor”. The time stated against that was 4:30 pm. The current time being 6 pm, he would barely have finished half an hour ago.

“No, no,” I said, “I’ll have to have someone else.”

So I went back to the Wall. This time, the trannie mamasan roused herself from the sofa to help me choose. After observing which photos my eyes landed on, she figured out the “type” that I would be interested in. She pointed to HZ. “This one gay,” she said. Blind or sighted? At Chakran Kuala Lumpur

November 2008

chakran_klWork has sent me back to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, rather sooner than I expected, so here I am making another trip within two and a half months, allowing me to explore its delights again. Unfortunately, this rescheduling means Thailand is postponed for a month.

This trip, I discovered a bathhouse with a name imitating that of a well-known establishment in Bangkok – Chakran – but inside, it’s nothing like the Thai original. Consisting of just the upper floors of a single townhouse, it is quite basic; it doesn’t even have private rooms. Groping mostly happens in the steam room.

I won’t dwell further on it except to mention that it also offers massage. The receptionist (and boss?) advised that I could choose between a blind masseur and a sighted one. The former would cost 40 ringgit per hour, but I’d have to wait a little as he’d have to call one over from another establishment. (The neighbourhood seems to have plenty of tiny shops featuring “blind massage”.) Continue reading Blind or sighted? At Chakran Kuala Lumpur…

Bangkok's Suvarnabumi Airport, departure level

Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, departure level

One of the most convenient ways to get from Bangkok airport directly to Pattaya is to take the bus operated by Bell Travel Service Co. Ltd. You can enquire or book in advance through email

I’ve had prompt responses from them, and can vouch for the punctuality and reliability of the service. I last used them in September 2007, and a recent enquiry (November 2008) confirmed that the price was still the same – 150 baht per person one way.

They have two-hourly departures from the airport every day, at 8 am, 10 am, 12 noon, 2 pm, 4 pm and 6 pm. Continue reading Express bus from Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya…
